Hawaii Information

Flight Information

Hotel accommodations:   Maui Lu Hotel, this hotel was selected because all other properties require that an adult be in each room that is occupied by athletes under 18.  With the projected need for 20 rooms this is the only one that gives us the opportunity to house all the players.

The cars and vans need to be rented separately, either on your own or through the travel agency.  

Cost covers the airfare and the hotels for the trip.  Individuals will be responsible for their meals and souvenirs

Cost:      1 person in a room -   $1,753

              2 people in a room - $1,318

              3 people in a room - $1,149

              4 people in a room - $1,052

(the cost also covers a team t-shirt for the trip and entry fee)

Regarding chaperones, parents are more than welcome to come - and are encouraged to do so.  We have had three parents of boy members and one for the girls who have volunteered to help in the arrangements, we are still looking for additional help.

A $100 deposit will be required in a very short while - I will let you know when that is

Hawaii Fundraising

We will conduct the same fundraising technique that we have done in the past.  We will sell sponsorships to the  club and will post those participating on our club sponsorship page.  It needs to be noted that Modesto-Stanislaus is an non-profit tax exempt corporation so donations can be written off.

Players can solicit the funds, and then will receive NINETY percent of the monies that they collect, while ten percent will go to the club.   Following is the amounts

1/8 page      $40  (36 to player)        1/4 page     $80   (72 to player)

1/2 page      $150  (135 to player)    Full page    $300  (270 to player)

As you can see the player can get their trip paid for in a timely fashion this way.  I have the forms for this, so if interested please let me know.

High School Senior All-Star Game

The 1st annual match between the Seniors of the MMC and the Seniors of the CCC will take place February 18th at Merced College.  The senior girls will play at noon and the senior boys at 1:30.  This will be the last time these players will be representing their respective areas and should be enjoyable to witness.  The cost for spectators will be $5.00

Zone Tryout Camps

The zone tryout camps for boys and girls are starting in March.  I will be posting the tryouts / areas / costs in the March newsletter section.  If you need to plan NOW for this event then go to www.centralcalwaterpolo.com  where all information is posted.  If you are in doubt as to who should be involved, etc., please contact me and I will bring you up to speed with these programs

Coaches Meeting

The annual coaches/corporation meeting was held last month.  The staff for the upcoming year was finalized as well as the schedules for tournament and practices ( you can see this information in the spring/summer section of the web page).  We will be paying for advertisement in the Modesto Bee and other area newspapers.  The ads will appear for a week in April, hopefully this will get us to our goal of 200 members this summer.
