Well, the Las Vegas trip just didn't get off the ground - this was mainly do to the different Spring vacation breaks in the different school districts, and with the definite commitment to the dates we had intended to travel. Oh well, there is always next year to make these plans
Regarding area camps, they began on the 5th at Johansen for the girls and Pitman for the boys. Admittedly the numbers were very low considering that the drawing area stretches from Merced to Benicia (excluding only Sacrament and Davis areas).
This was surprising since all the area water polo coaches were notified to let their players know, and it was posted on the website. In case you missed it, individuals can still be considered if they make the remaining camp which will be held on March 19th at Johansen. We will be meeting on March 12th to determine the schedule/calendar for the 2006 season. I will post the schedule here after that meeting.
It looks like Turlock schools will start the same week they did last year - and that the Modesto schools will start at the same point too - so if you are planning your vacations, it looks like there will be plenty of time following Junior Olympics in Southern California
I am still looking for parent to coordinate trips this summer. Those trips include Commerce for the girls as well as J.O.'s - and a couple of trips to Southern California with the boys. If interested please contact me.
Lastly, many of you know that I will be taking my first summer vacation with
my family in......?......... We will be traveling to Europe from mid
June to mid July. I am as concerned as always as to what will happen when
I am gone and want to be sure that all organization, etc. has taken place to
make it possible for our coaches to coach and not have to worry about
"other" things. If you are interesting in helping the program
during this time, please contact me so I can start the ball rolling in getting
assistance this summer.
