Hit Counter December 2006

Well, high school is finally over and winter polo is in full swing.  The turn out has been great, with a lot of new, and younger faces participating.  This is also the time of year to renew your U.S. water polo memberships for 2007.  Go to the link on the homepage and you can renew from there.  If you need to change your club affiliation, or need to register for the first time our club number is 176.

The schedule for the summer season is almost complete and will be posted sometime in the next week or so.  We will have two schedules this summer, one will be for the higher level competitive group and the other will be for the more developmental participants.

Information regarding the Maui Tournament.   I have had couple of parents contact me willing to help in the organization.  We have entered a 16-u, 18-u, and open team in both the boys and the girls division.  The dates for the tournament will be July 17th to the 24th.  Players who want to go, but need assistance in raising the money will be able to participate in a fund raiser early in the summer.  At this time I am in the process of choosing the hotel for the team, and would appreciate it, if you are interested, in contacting me so that we can secure the best place for our players.  The cost of the trip will depend on which hotel we are staying in.   I could use the help of any parent willing.....please contact me if interested.

Junior Olympics are scheduled for July 28-31 for the boys and August 1-4 for the girls.  The JO's have been rescheduled from originally being in Michigan to now being held in Northern California - probably in San Jose.  For our teams to participate they will have to qualify.  The qualification tournament will be held either June 23-24 or June 30 July 1st. so please plan accordingly.

Age groups for 2007 are as follows born 93-94 will be 14 and under, born 92-91 will be 16-under, 89-90 will be 18-under, and born 88 and up will be open.   Coaches for the summer, so far, will be Jay and Sonja for the boys and Brent, Karin, Shannon, Bryan H, Toni and Lisa for the girls. I am sure we will be adding coaches as the spring time approaches.

The season will begin in April.   The cost will still be $200 but we will eliminate the spring season and get started in mid April.  Practices will be Mondays and Wednesdays until we reach May, and then we will be practicing Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesdays.   Once school gets out for everyone, this will be June 11th,  the practices will be the same as last year.  Boys will practice from 8 to 10, newcomers will practice from 5:15 to 6:30 PM, and then the girls will come into practice from 6:30 until the sun goes down.  The dates for the April start will be posted on our spring and summer page in the near future.
