October 2004

I am sorry that I have not been able to post the newsletter for this month until now.  Everyone is so involved with water polo activities that there has been little time to get it posted.  We are now wrapping up the MOMS program.  There was a great article in the 10/20 Modesto Bee covering just how much fun everyone was having.  Already I have received phone calls and e messages regarding getting involved when we start up again in the Spring.  The pre high school program was a pleasant surprise - there were WAY more boys involved than girls - this is a first for MSWP.  This bodes well for the future of our programs.  The pre high school team participated in a couple of tournaments in the Sacramento area, and gained some valuable experience for the future.

I have started making plans for the summer.  With JO's being held in Northern California, and the start of school looking like it might be August 15th, we will be looking for a team trip to the Maui Invitational.  This tournament is held the first week in August.  I had initially thought that the New Zealand, Australia trip was a potential go, and I am still working on that possibility, but if it doesn't materialize we will have this to fall back on

During Spring Break we are looking for a training and tournament trip to New Mexico.  They will have a tournament the first weekend in April (when the kids are out of school) and we could go there and train as well as play.  I will have more of this in the November or December newsletter.

Spring water polo will begin the second week in February and will take place two or three times a week.  Spring water polo will include our high school kids, as well as the pre high school and new participants - AND OUR NEWEST PROGRAM the MOM'S !!!!!!!
