Initial Information for Summer Water Polo

Practices:  Prior to the end of school practices will be held at Johansen H.S. - both boys and girls will practice at the same time.  Practices will be from 4 PM to 7 PM each day.  Boys will practice from 4 to 5:30 and girls from 5:30 to 7 PM

This schedule will be in place for the following dates - May 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, and 27 June 2,3,4,7 and 8.

Beginning June 14^th we will begin our summer schedule.  Boy's high school age will practice at Pitman H.S. in Turlock from 8 to 10 AM, Monday through Thursday.   Girls high school age and above will practice at Johansen from 6:30 to 8:15 PM, Monday through Thursday.  Beginning players and pre high school players, both male and female, will practice at Johansen from 5:15 to 6:30 PM, Monday through Thursday.

Cost:  The cost for summer water polo will be $150.  This will cover the cost of tournament entries, coaching, and coaches' reimbursement. 

Major Events:
Junior Olympics in Florida - In order to participate in Junior Olympics this summer our teams must qualify.  The girls qualifying will take place at UOP Tues. and Wed. June 22 and 23.  The boys qualifying will take place at Solano College Sat. and Sun. June 26 and 27.

We will begin making preliminary arrangements soon.  We will need some sort of "interest" assessment in order to make plans.  We will only take 13 players for each of the age groups - 12 and under, 14 and under, 16 and under and 18 and under.  In the event we have more than 13 in an age group that want to go, we will have to make cuts.  What we would like is your intent of going to J.O's by the end of May.

18-under women's tournament in Sacramento.  This summer, the Sacramento area is hosting a major tournament for 18-under women, which is by invitation only.  There are teams from 5 other states, all the major California teams, and a team from South Africa.  The dates of the tournament will be July 8^th through the 11^th.  Please mark your calendar accordingly.  We will take the best 13 players we have to this event.

Summer Events:
We will also compete each weekend in area tournaments.  There is a tentative schedule that will be posted on our web site.  There will be tournaments each weekend beginning June 12,13 and each weekend thereafter until July 17,18.

Registration forms for summer water polo will be available at the high school league swim meet, or can be downloaded from our web site.  Additionally, registration forms will be available from your respective high school aquatic coaches.  No one will be allowed to practice until they have submitted their registration forms with dues.
